Gent, 10 December 2020 – Robovision from Ghent won the Prijs van de Vlaamse Regering voor de Scale-up van het Jaar (The Flemish Government Prize for the Scale-up of the Year” 2020 on Monday evening at an award ceremony in the Belgian capital of Brussels. Robovision beat other notable competition from the Belgian region of Flanders such as FibriCheck, THEO Technologies and Unifly. Robovision’s CEO, Jonathan Berte was presented with the prize by the head of the Flemish regional government, Minister-President Jan Jmabon.
Robovision develops AI-enabled computer-vision software for the agricultural, medical and manufacturing sectors. It’s patent-pending technology is used across Europe and North America to increase efficiency at horticultural growers, diagnose diseases faster and reduce material waste in manufacturing processes. The company was recently named as “within the top-20 fastest growing Belgian companies of 2020” by Deloitte Belgium.
The jury was made up of representatives from across public and private sectors in Flanders including Daan De Wever, CEO of Destiny, Tom Michielsen, editor of the Dutch-language newspaper De Tijd and Daniel Verlé, representative of VLAIO – Flemish regional agency for innovation and entrepreneurs.
