Experienced Industry Leader to Accelerate Global Reach and Strengthen Commercial Strategy

GHENT, Belgium, July 8, 2024 — Robovision, a company specializing in a vision AI-platform, has appointed David De Paula as Chief Commercial Officer. De Paula brings more than two decades of experience in international enterprise sales strategies, driving global market expansion and revenue growth.

Most recently VP EMEA & APAC for CloudBees, De Paula was responsible for growing market opportunities for a DevOps solution for large companies with high priority compliance needs. His business development career has extended across the automotive, aerospace, telecom, healthcare, and semiconductor industries. Prior to CloudBees, he was active in multiple software categories including Cloud, SaaS, and AI to name a few.

DE PAULA & ROBOVISION

Following Robovision’s recent $42M funding round secured this past March, De Paula is tasked with spearheading a robust market expansion across Europe, the US, and APAC.

Robovision, a pioneer in computer vision AI, offers a Cloud & Edge platform in advanced image recognition. By integrating Robovision’s platform with industrial machinery and/or robotics, companies are able to accelerate AI-powered automation. Robovision’s platform primarily serves environments where maximum accuracy, reliability and scalability are business critical.

What excites me about Robovision is their ability to dramatically improve business through smart automation. Their AI software enables machine operators and domain experts to manage operations. Saves costs, but ultimately ensures reliable low-latency decisions, insight, and data at scale to compound the benefits of automation.

One specific advantage of Robovision’s platform is the no code and user-friendly design: non-technical users are able to adapt, retrain and run deep learning models without relying on IT support. High customization of learning models makes it easy to scale operations—and ultimately revenue. Having earned the trust of customers, the Robovision platform has been deployed in over one thousand robots in industrial applications in more than 40 countries. Leveraging De Paula’s expertise will further grow this number.

Key examples of Robovision’s technology applications include:

  • Quality inspections at Sub-3 nanometers for leaders in the semiconductor industry (as a reference, a strand of hair is around 80,000 nanometers).
  • Tulip bulb recognition applications that facilitate planting; efforts led to use in 60% of worldwide tulip production
  • Flooring with unpredictable patterns (such as natural wood) inspected at speeds of 100 meters per minute. Deviations detected before becoming errors.

Adding more top talent fuels the entire team, including the executive committee, says Robovision CEO, Thomas Van den Driessche,

It’s no secret that Robovision has ambitious growth plans. With a remarkable track record and a commercial background in SaaS, David will undoubtedly keep our commercial operations elevated as we expand. We are excited to build on Robovision’s continuous innovation in vision AI with his vast experience.
