How can AI assist radiology?

Radiology is crucial in modern healthcare. However, the amount of medical images is growing fast, as is their size and dimensionality. This puts pressure on the radiologists who interpret the imagery while being fully liable and having to meet high compliance standards. AI proves to be a valuable tool for those human experts.

Anomaly detection with AI

To assist radiologists, Robovision collaborated with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the US governmental agency responsible for biomedical and public health research. We co-developed a deep learning-based AI software for image recognition. The aim was to easily identify specific organs and detect any anomalies. Radiologists can now rely on this AI software application to interpret results, but also use it to produce summaries of scans out of huge amounts of data, all in a heartbeat.

AI Pioneer in Healthcare

We collaborated with Dr. Ronald Summers, recognized by Forbes as one of the Top 100 AI Pioneers in Healthcare. Our research paper was presented at the IEEE conference in Venice in April 2019.

This type of partnership is very valuable in sectors such as healthcare. Sharing knowledge and insights with other researchers in the field enables us to innovate even more quickly. We are hoping to improve healthcare for everyone, which is why we’re continuing to develop our AI platform aimed at assisting in diagnoses by interpreting medical images.
