We are very proud to announce we won the Scale-up of the year 2020 award by Scale-ups.eu during The Big Squeeze event on 12th of November 2020!
“We are delighted to be recognised by the Belgian Start-up and Scale-up community as an important player to help shape the economy of tomorrow.” – Jonathan Berte (CEO Robovision)
The Big Squeeze, which is organised by Startups.be and Scale-ups.eu, took six months later than expected as a result of the corona crisis. Like many network events, they also switched from a physical to a completely virtual setting. A professional jury chaired by Omar Mohout (Sirris) made a shortlist in four different categories: scale-up of the year, start-up of the year, disruptive innovation of the year and student start-up of the year. Also Jürgen Ingels, Els Bellens, Koen De Waele and Thibault Claes were part of the jury.
“Being an entrepreneur is about being quick, being agile and being resilient. Belgian start-ups have shown to be all of that. They are COVID-proof. By pivoting fast, by quickly adapting to new circumstances. It is no surprise that in today’s difficult job market, it is the start-ups and scale-ups who create the new jobs. So I am very happy to see that COVID could not prevent a new edition of The Big Squeeze.” – Alexander De Croo (prime minister of Belgium)
“The most successful companies are the ones that know how to squeeze time: through their experience and through automation of their processes.” – Jürgen Ingels (Smartfin)
