Robovision and delaware.ai launch AI partnership
Robovision and delaware announce a partnership to bring artificial intelligence capabilities to enterprises faster. The deep learning platform developed by Robovision will be included in delaware’s offering. The focus is on computer vision applications, which are used to extract information from images. Visual inspection and smart detection is very useful in a wide range of industries, as data without interpretation is just data.
After having worked together on a project for a joint customer, delaware, a business advisor and IT services provider, and Robovision, an AI company that develops deep learning applications, decided to set up a more thorough partnership. As such, companies can autonomously infuse their processes and operations with AI, leading to more valuable interpretations and automated intelligent decision-making.

AI and computer vision
AI combines many different technologies. Three key elements are computer vision, natural language processing and intelligent devices. Within this partnership, the focus is on computer vision.
Typical computer vision applications consist of visually detecting or recognizing specific items or objects, either from images, video or cameras. Data is then labelled and turned into a series of insights from which a number of actions are derived. These can range from simple yes-no questions, over object detection to segmentation and similarity detection. Some examples are:
- Within the food industry, the quality of crops or the width and height of vegetables can be identified automatically. As such, production can be optimized and quality can be improved.
- Within manufacturing, product defects can be spotted sooner and defected products can be removed from the production line more quickly, greatly optimizing the total throughput.
All of these AI technologies use deep learning, meaning that the system becomes smarter: it learns with every new case presented. Depending on the nature of the implementation, additional calibration of the algorithms and sometimes also human interaction is still needed to make the process even more performant.
